Pre-order terms

These pre-order terms apply when you reserve a product listed as a "pre-order" on the MotorMafia website. They sit alongside, and do not replace, our general Terms & Conditions and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

When you place a pre-order, we charge a 20% deposit immediately to reserve your unit from the next production batch. The deposit is shown to you at checkout before payment and is part of the same single invoice that covers your full order.

Where your cart also contains in-stock items, those in-stock items are charged in full at checkout and ship separately. Only the pre-order line(s) carry the deposit and balance split.

The remaining 80% balance for each pre-order line is invoiced and charged when that line dispatches. You will receive an email reminder with a one-click payment link pointing back to the same single invoice — there is no separate "balance invoice".

Accepted payment methods for the balance match the methods available at checkout (currently bank transfer; card via PayPal is being added).

Stated dispatch windows are good-faith estimates only and may change due to supplier or manufacturing lead-times. We will notify you of any material change to the window for your order.

If a material delay occurs, you may cancel your pre-order and receive a full refund of your deposit — see clause 5.

If we cancel a pre-order — for example, because we cannot fulfil it, or because of a material delay — you are entitled to a full refund of the deposit and any other amounts you have paid in respect of that line.

Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5 business days of the cancellation. For bank transfer payments, refunds are returned to the account the transfer originated from; please contact us if those details have changed.

You may cancel a pre-order at any time before it dispatches by emailing info@motormafia.com.au with your order number. We will confirm receipt within 1 business day and process the cancellation within 5 business days.

Where you cancel without cause (for example, change of mind), we may retain a portion of the deposit equal to our reasonable costs incurred up to the point of cancellation — for example, materials already purchased or production time already committed to your unit. Any remainder of the deposit is refunded. We will tell you the retained amount and the reason in writing before refunding.

Once your pre-order has dispatched, the order is treated as a normal shipped order and is subject to our standard returns policy — see the Returns section of our Terms & Conditions.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For a major failure with a product you are entitled to a replacement or refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a failure that does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the problem remedied within a reasonable time, and if this is not done, to a refund.

Nothing in these pre-order terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010).

We may update these terms from time to time by publishing an updated version on this page. The version of these terms in effect when you place a pre-order applies to that pre-order.
